Cramer: Slow Day... LeBron Time

My fellow writer, Wills Klein, recently informed me that several of our readers are interested in reading more about the best player in the NBA, LeBron James. Being the nice guy that I am, I feel the need to satisfy these requests with some LeBron stuff...

The other day I was searching the web looking for stuff I thought could make the cut at Zeus of Sport, and I found a video of Stephon Marbury ripping LeBron:

First of all, one of the last things I would ever do on this planet is criticize a 6' 8" man who weighs about 2 times my weight. Secondly, LeBron has aspirations to become the richest athlete on the planet (and with the exception of Tiger Woods, this could be a real possibility). If that means having your own shoe line under the bigger category of "Nike," I think he can survive being "owned" by the millions of dollars the company gives him. So while LeBron is owned by Nike, and the title of MVP, best player in the NBA, freak of nature, way ahead of his years, etc... Marbury is owned by some disgustingly disturbing act of the Devil that causes him to eat vaseline.

Next, in the Kobe vs. LeBron argument, let's just stop it. Every argument that is made I feel is just wrong. In terms of raw basketball talent... Kobe. Obviously. And no LeBron supporter ever tries to argue against that. But in terms of dominance on the court (individually, and team-player wise): due strictly to the fact that LeBron's physical attributes are WAY ahead of his time, there's no way that he wouldn't be the most dominant player in the league and hence the best. What he did this year against Orlando, last year against Boston, and the year before against Detroit is just sick. Sure, he lost 2 of those series... but Kobe wouldn't have even reached the rounds in which the series were played with LeBron's supporting cast. Before Kobe got Pau Gasol (and yes, Gasol was the player who made them the best team in the NBA because he was their ONE addition), the Lakers were a 7 or 8 seed who struggled to win games in the playoffs. STRUGGLED TO WIN GAMES. Enter Pau Gasol. Best player on an 8th seeded Memphis team, all star, 20-10 guy, and of course the Lakers were the 1 seed. 2 super stars, Lamar Odom, Bynum, Derek Fisher, Trevor Ariza... it's not even fair (imagine how unfair it could be if Artest works out).

The Cavs though... come on. Mo Williams was a good 6th man on a shitty Milwaukee team, Z is old as you know what, Varejao is a good energy guy off the bench, Ben Wallace can't do a damn thing offensively and is too old to be effective on defense, Delonte West is more worried about Doughnuts than his mediocre offensive and defensive games, Wally's World is a joke, and Daniel Gibson will never get any better than he was in the playoffs his rookie year because his ego is the biggest part about him and has convinced him that he is already good enough to not need to improve.

So please... spare me the supporting cast arguments Lakers fans because you're just wrong. Kobe has 4 championships... but he's 6 years older, won 3 with Shaq when he was the best there was, and 1 with Gasol, Odom, and Ariza when they all couldn't miss. Give LeBron any of those 3 and he wins a championship immediately. We'll see if a washed-up Shaq, Anthony Parker, and Jamario Moon are the equivalent this year.

I'll stop my argument there for now, but I'll be back for more... Kobe and LeBron fans please continue the great debate by commenting on this article.
