Cramer: Iverson to the Griz

There have been Allen Iverson rumblings all summer, but nothing has come out of them until now. Allen has announced on his twitter that he will be joining the Memphis Grizzlies this upcoming season. The Answer said, "'God Chose Memphis as the place that I will continue my career.'"

What is the significance of this move by Memphis? I think the "Answer" might not be clear until we see how a team of Rudy Gay, OJ Mayo, AI, and Zach Randolph can mesh together. All are notorious for being ball dominators, so it will be interesting to see if they can share. If they can, they have some serious start power on that team especially with Marc Gasol on the front line looking to make a big improvement in year 2 in the league.

For Allen Iverson this could huge. He probably still has a couple years left to play in the league at a pretty high level, so if he can come out and play his heart out and show he can still be a great scorer, a playoff team could take a chance on him next season. However, he still likely will have to be willing to be a bench option if he is ever signed by a good team at this point in his career. Although I'm sure if given the ball like he was in Philly he could still average in the upper 20s in points, that's not gonna get it done in the NBA today where good teams have up to 5 legit scoring options. Hopefully he can grow up a little bit and accept that fact and he could get a championship on his hall-of-fame resume.

Either way the Grizzlies aren't a playoff team in the powerful West, but they could a very fun team to watch much like the Warriors of a few years ago. Stay tuned.
