Klein: Fantasy Football Rankings (Top-50 & QBs)

The fantasy football season is not too far away and soon some of you will be sitting in your draft room with no idea who to draft. That is where I come in! My rankings will give you the best chance to draft the best players available. For the next few days I will be releasing my preview in several sections. I will first start with my Top-50 players (Offensive players and DST) and then give you positional rankings, which will have the Top-15 for QB, RB, WR, TE, K, and DST. QB Sleeper: Sage Rosenfels (MIN)
**This is if the Vikings DO NOT sign free agent QB Brett Favre.**
I really can't seem to understand why the Vikes want this Brett Favre guy so much. The 39-year old who won a Superbowl more than 10 years ago couldn't even throw a ball a few months ago and it isn't too often that someone at his age has a full recovery from shoulder surgery. It was not so long ago that Favre finished the Jets' season with a 1-4 record and took them out of playoff contention. As a Jet fan I can understand the Minnesota fans excitment but I will tell you one thing, he will not help your franchise progress. The Vikes should go with the guy who is 8 years young, Mr. Rosenfels. Sage started 6 games last season for the Texans during the absense of QB Matt Shaub. During those games he threw for 1,431 yards, 10 TDs, and 6 INTs. He came in off the bench in these situations and made the most of his opportunities. This 6'4" gun-slinger has the tools to be a solid starting quarterback in this league and could make coach Brad Childress look very, very smart after his Tavaris Jackson investment. DO NOT expect him to be a GREAT QB1 on your fantasy squad but expect him to give you solid stats each week as a mediocre QB2. As the season progresses you will see him mature into the Vikes offense with tools around him like WR Bernard Berrian, WR Percy Harvin, and RB Adrian Peterson. With protection from an outstanding O-line he will get the time in the pocket that Tavaris Jackson never used! Jackson attempted to scramble too much at times and that led to off balanced throws that ended up in the dirt. Look for Rosenfels in the last 2 or 3 rounds of your draft and let him sit on your bench until you see production.
