Cramer: NBA News of the Day

There were a couple of stories in the NBA worth mentioning today:

Firstly, although it took place yesterday, it appears as though the Cavs are going to add Jamario Moon to their ever improving roster. They signed the restricted free agent to an offer sheet yesterday, and all sources seem to indicate that the Heat will not match the offer due to the fact that they have bigger plans with their money for right now. According to Brian Windhorst of the Cleveland Plain Dealer, the Heat have until Friday to make a decision on Moon.

In other news, Steve Nash has accepted a 2 year, $22 million deal extension from the Suns. Frankly, I am very confused by this due to Nash's apparent dissatisfaction with the franchise during last season. Additionally, the Suns seem to be going into rebuilding mode, so it would make more sense for Nash to join a contender as he nears the end of his career.

The Timberwolves traded Sebastian Telfair, Mark Madsen, and Craig Smith to the Clippers for Quentin Richardson. It's so weird to see a trade with Q's name in it... not. This is the third time he has been traded this summer. He went from the Knicks, to the Griz, to the Clippers, and now to the Wolves. It makes sense for the Wolves to get rid of Telfair to clear space at the point guard for Flynn and possibly Rubio (we'll let you know what happens, GM David Kahn is in Italy as I write this). As for Richardson, he'll never be the player he was when he played for the Suns, but he can add some defense and shooting to any team in this league.

Finally, it appears as though Ramon Sessions is going to be signed by the Knicks for the mid-level exception of 5.8-5.9 million dollars. I have been very high on Sessions for the last season and a half, and I think, if given a starting spot, he could be a top 10 point guard in this league... as I always say: time will tell.
